Icon3 Needs Some Advice on a Lume Pot issue

I was browsing through some watch site, and saw this 1665 with a decent lume.

But when I saw the zoom, i notice this funny surrounding at each of the lume pot of the dial.

Obviously, from my understanding, darker lume pot tends to reflect some moisture enter the case, by whatever reason, causing it to turn.

So the question is, is the lume pot eating the dial or is the dial has take too much moisture and started to bubble around the dial?

Lume pLot

The tritium mix likely reacted with the dial/paint

edit - looks great, btw

Oops...didn't thing straight..keep typing without the L ...LOL

Thanks for the reply....I keep looking here and there to see what causing this... My first guess was same as you, its the lume material eating the dial paint at some point..

But im also now sure if this is a good or bad sign that the dial will fail around the plot..
Normally I will see this happen where the hands material drop directly on top of the dial for a long time and eats abit of the surface of the dial .. (tiny grey dots on a black dial)

anyone else can chip in?

It's a slow process, but these old ones are deteriorating. Dial and hands often affected in unwanted ways. Probably one of the main reasons for not using tritium any more (along with luminescence issues).
