Small Detail that has no effect on the awesomeness of this timepiece but since I’m a baseballl weirdo I have a need to let everyone know that there was no such thing as
an ALCS in 1964. Best record in each league automatically were league champions and met in the World Series in those days. The 64 series went seven games and behind the pitching of the great Bob Gibson the Cardinals won in 7 games. It pretty much marked the end of Mantle’s prime and one of the all time great series ever played.

Up to $40k. 13 days left.

Now included a letter from the current owner who supposedly purchased the watch from Mantle's son in 1981. At least explains where all the wrist dirt came from :)

Looks like he didn't wear this watch much before giving it to his son.

If I had the cash, I would bid on it as I’m both a old baseball and watch fan.

FWIW, I expect the price to keep going up. It's a cool watch with a really great provenance that cuts across both sport memorabilia and the watch collecting community.

I see this sold for $108,000 - I would’ve guessed it would go higher.
