I thought this would happen last year but never clearly did. However, I can’t see anything happening this year due to the Corona situation...but you never know, maybe we might see something next year!

That depends on what Rolex does. If the watches are in production before the Baselworld, I highly doubt they'll postpone the release. they might just do an online release. If on the other hands, they don't have the watches being built in advance, they're gonna postpone.

A white gold Daytona with a ceramic bezel would be a game changer!

The Daytona line has for the most part undergone a complete re-do. No changes likely soon. Look for changes to the Submariner line. Then again, we may end up getting 2020/21 releases in a bundle next year.

Don't see it happening, now or ever, really. Sorry.

That's why it's one of the only watches that are still the most sought after. The Daytona never received the super-case treatment (fattened lugs, increased diameter etc) and still remains largely the same as the 5-digit Zenith version from 1988. Since then, Rolex strengthened the bracelet, had several clasp revisions, new movement, different bezel revisions etc. But never changed the case which is why, in my opinion it remains their top model.

It is like taking the 16610 and adding only the 116610's bracelet, clasp, ceramic bezel, maxi-marker dials, and A/R crystal, which in my opinion is the perfect diver watch for me.

Ahh we've been saying it since 2015. I can't decide if I like the ceramic bezel or original gold bezel better.
I think Rolex keeps the gold bezels on the bracelet model because that's what makes it unique. I personally do not like the ceramic bezel on the strap (116515) models. I think they would look so much better with the original gold bezel.

I’d love one, especially in wg. I would have tough choices to make as can’t own them all. I’d likely sell my 519 and 505

I’d love to see yellow gold as well.

I'm quite confident that 95% of Rolex buyers wouldn't notice or care about the Daytona getting a super-case. The Daytona was the "premier" sports model before the super-case was ever introduced, and it has remained the premier sports model since. It's there because of market momentum and because Rolex positions it as such, not because it avoided changes that are unpopular with one portion of the relatively tiny enthusiast market.

If the case change actually mattered to the vast majority of buyers, we wouldn't see the sub and GMT doing as well as they are. For every poster on TRF who doesn't like the super-case, there are 100 regular buyers who don't know the case changed 15 years ago and wouldn't care if they did.

You've got a point. I can't imagine what a daytona would look like with a super-case though, I wonder if anyone has a render?

I'm sure it'll happen sooner or later. You'd think it would be more the "sooner" side, but after last year gave us completely unexpected things, I don't know if there's much value in "This will definitely happen this year" predictions.

I want this so badly. I love my 116519, but I would get rid of it in a heartbeat for this and a WG version of it. Hell, I might buy the YG version, too, just because the ceramic bezel/bracelet combo is unbeatable.

It will be incredible if it’s white gold with a true panda dial.

The Daytona does have a kind of a super-case. There are 3 cases out there right now:

Slim right side lugs/classic: SS, TT, YG bracelet model
Larger case model (larger right side and symmetrical lugs): RG, WG, OysterFlex (including YG)
Larger case w/ sharper crown guard lines: Platinum

I'd have to agree on the Ceramic. Makes sense and is what I called a couple months back. Time will tell I guess.

I actually prefer PM without the ceramic bezel.
