The Sub is a classic that looks good in any collection. If you have many Rolexes with date then the Sub is a great addition to a collection.

Agreed. I want the Submariner some day to add to my collection, assuming it is still made when I am able to add it. If I ever get a Submariner Date, it will be with a blue or green dial. The Submariner date SS black dial is probably one of the last watches I would add to my collection.

I would respectfully beg to differ. I would even go as far as say that most people that go for the Sub (as opposed to the Sub-date) do it for reasons other than the price difference.

I don’t own a Sub yet but I do own a blue dial DJ 16014. I am specifically waiting for the Sub from my AD. As much as I do like the cyclops on the 36mm DJ I prefer the look of the Sub without.

Submariner (without Date) Owners ...

They both get close to an equal amount of wrist time. have been wearing the sub lately as a daily just because the colours and bracelet are a little more casual and understated. The GMT is on my wrist if I’m not at work, when I go for drinks etc

P.s. I also previously owned a SubC date, had it for a year. Once I got the BLRO I wanted to contrast it by having a watch without a cyclops, grab set and go.

If the date and non date were the same price I would bet sales would change very little.

I don't know about most, but I bought my 14060M because that's the Submariner I wanted.

I did not settle. Yea, verily, I ordered mine from my AD and got one of the last five left in the United States just weeks before the 114060 was released at Basel.

My AD, who went on the hunt to find mine, was so shocked by the dearth of specimens, he bought one for himself.

I wouldn't take a Sub date over a Sub if they were the same price. It's not about the money but it was nice to save a k. I love both of mine 5&6 dgt. For a sports Rolex I'll save the dates for the Gmts..

It's an Eastman E20SS.

I love it.

I'm not good with it yet, but I'm learning.
