Tell me about the 1048
Used to own a 1392 42mm luminor that I sold as I just couldn't get the right fit for my small wrist ~6.3 in wrist. It would move around too much, partially due to the straps not having the perfect fit.
Love the Panerai look and this 40mm model has caught my eye. Love the domed crystal and the size. Anyone own this model and care to share their experience and perhaps some pics?? Thanks |

The 1048 has a flatter crystal than the 1392, to start with. It is 16mm thick, compared to 1392 which is 13,5mm thick. The lug to lug length is shorter though, 48mm vs. 51,5mm.
My personal opinion is that the OEM straps make the watches move around too much, so I'm using only sturdier/thicker aftermarket straps for my watches. :) |

Looks like a great fit for you. Thanks for the pics. How thick is the watch with the domed crystal? Easy to fit underneath cuff?

Reasonably thick, I think it should fit under the cuff given its 40 mm and lugs don't over hang. Do try the timepiece whenever you get a chance. Otherwise it's a solid chunky reference with a WR at 300m. Should not disappoint IMO.
