Anyone do some selling off lately?

Lots of condescension as per usual here on TRF. Coolex and watchflair need to get their heads on straight. I can almost guarantee neither of you are financially bulletproof. Very few people in this world can say that they are. It’s very easy to armchair quarterback any situation when you aren’t involved.

This is a global scale event that is putting even the richest into very bad positions. I’m watching colleagues sell things they never thought they would that have far greater value than a watch. Put enough pressure on anyone and they will have to do what’s necessary to survive.

Add Ocog or whatever his name is to the list of the inconsiderate. Let’s have some class and compassion here people.

Nothing about the virus has changed my watch perspective. They weren't a measurable part of my net worth and still are not.

I think at least a majority of people here rely at least partially on income for their lifestyle...not everyone has a trust fund. These are unprecedented times. I don't expect to lose my income but for the first time in 35 years I wouldn't say its impossible to imagine. At some point, with all of our customers completely shut down all we have as an OEM automotive parts supply business is nothing more than an expensive hobby and not a business at all.

I would not want to have to be looking for buyers right now...for anything except toilet paper, masks and Spam.

Definitely will not sell any of my watches as they mean too much to me.

The only watch I would buy is TT CHNR at mrsp as this would complete my collection (for now)

Selling might be the difference between keeping your head above water for a few months or sinking

We are lucky our Rolex hobby allows us to have a relatively liquid asset on our wrists. Not many hobbies can do that.

Sell: Equities, no; jewelry, no. I'm on a waiting list for a Hulk and will purchase if I get the call.

On paper, I'm down almost 800k but have liquidity. Why panic and take the loss if I don't have to. This epidemic will pass and life will go on but at a slower recovery.

Stay safe and healthy.

Not selling anything... Definitely nibbling on equities every week from now on. Hopefully averaging out over time.

Me too. It’s have to get bad bad bad bad for me to sell a watch. Not because I love them so much, tho I do, but because they don’t bring all that much and value is low. I’ll try to buy more if I can.

Agree with others, quite frankly it’s astounding you made this post (as there may even be some service workers on this board). Not to mention, how ridiculous it is. I know people in hospitality having trouble that pull down 1% numbers and are cutting back on spending and having serious doubts. Get off your high horse.

‘Low level workers’ just shows how you envision yourself as better than others

I have never sold any watches in my entire life & I am not about to start now. Watches are a guilty pleasure and have never been an "investment".

So true. I've been through this (paper loss) in the market before, just not this bad. Even if recovery is not 100%, I'll not complain as the up-tick was more than expected due to an over priced market.

Being retired, I feel for those whose livelihood took a sudden and unplanned economic downturn.

Soon, a major decision has to be made about the economic and health of our country and is a decision that will not be in consensus. Dammed if you do, dammed if you don't...

This is the best time to buy especially if the prices keep dropping. Batman new today was 11,995.

THIS is actually the biggest problem every single country is facing.

Trump did have some substance when he said the solution should not be larger than the problem.

I think the economic impacts will cause as many or more homeless, poverty and deaths than the virus itself. Cant put a price on any life but its a very very hard situation for all nations.

People like Ocog are the type that life (AKA KARMA) hasn’t hit yet, but it will. KARMA doesn’t fail in teaching important lessons and humbling those who aren’t quick learners
