Need help reading 16710 Swiss Only Dial

Hope you're all healthy and well.

I'm buying this to add into my collection.

It's a 1999 U890... serial 16710 swiss only dial.

I've personally inspected the watch and it looked OK. Case has been lightly polished but the dial matches the year, serial, down to the bracelet, end links and clasp codes.

However 2 things rang my bell:

1. The warranty card doesn't have the country code punch

2. It's serviced by RSC back in 2017 but when I used my 30x loupe, I saw 2-3 specks of dust somewhere inside the dial.

Questions:

- I've never seen a paper warranty card without the country code punched. FYI Chow Tai Fook is a big luxurious watch retailer group based in Hong Kong. Is the paper legit? Was it normal back then that some papers were blank without the country code?

- Unless the watch was reopened by another watchmaker in between 2017-now, is it even possible that RSC didn't blow the dusts off from inside the dial after they're done with servicing?

Grateful for your help.

I agreed with you that The Swiss only dial is correct for U serial from year 1999. Judging that the watch was serviced by RSC and paper look quite legit in my opinion.

Thanks for your input Mineral. I'm afraid that my paranoia and OCD is in high gear due to the Corona lockdown.

Am I normal to worry about the 3 specks of dust or I should get really worried if I spot 5 specks instead?

If you need a 30X loupe to see them, might I suggest you throw your loupe away, if you cannot see them with naked eye watch is fine.

LOL good idea. During this time it's better to see some dusts rather than some moving organism with crown, no?

Maybe it's the funny photo angle. Cyclops looked normal physically.

I was saying "30x?!" to myself when I read that. I believe in numismatics the professionals use a 10x loupe to value coins including rarities that can fetch hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Jason, Rolex should hire you for QC before it leaves the lab!

Nice watch for the collection though!

You know how hard it is to restraint myself for not taking out my 60x

I guess I was spoilt after acquiring this truly NOS all seal intact 16710LN F series couple of months ago.

Dial is clean as a whistle at 60x, well that was before the corona apocalypse tho.

Nice collection you're assembling!

Nothing wrong with due diligence, but at those magnifications on a preowned piece; you'll drive yourself mad.

As I said, I was spoilt. I acquired this NOS 16700 last year.

But yeah you're right. I'll be a little forgiving for this 16710 swiss only dial. I guess I still can live with 3 specks of dust. Definitely not 5
