If money is not a concern I would jump over the Platinum DD.

I say go Platinum, you’ll want it anyway so why not buy what you really want? But out of curiosity, which WG dial are you thinking?

Edit: Just saw you already decided... never mind.

Congrats on the new piece!

I’ve got WG with a 2.75 diamond bezel and it seems to do the trick. No complaints

I ultimately decided to take the plunge and went with the PLA DD over the WG. In the end my gut told me if I chose the WG I wouldn’t have been satisfied.

Side note, I took them both outside and I was amazed at the stark difference in color, the PLA was so much brighter than the WG. Side by side the WG almost appeared bronze. I have to admit I was surprised.

Pic attached. I feel blessed.

Thank you all again.

Congrats on your choice, OP. It’s my favorite DD, and as subtle and sophisticated looking as you can get. But the real reason I’m glad you got it is that you seemed to favor it. And if you’re going to wear it 80% of the time, and the WG DD is an expensive watch too, you should get EXACTLY what you want. IMO.

Enjoy that beauty!

The smooth dial on the Platinum just kills it for me. It's too plain/boring despite the fact that I like things that fly under the radar... The older Platinum DD's that had a smooth, rounded bezel look much better than the flat bezel.
^ This (and my small wrists) is exactly why I went with a 118206. I’ve got a YG President that ticks all the “classic Rolex President” boxes for a grail, so the platinum DD struck me as a modern way of flying under the radar without missing the mark by too much. None of the unnecessary attention that a gold President inevitably gets, yet every bit the grail. And then some :)
