We beat the Scots in the rugger.

All we need now is the barcodes to sting the goons, villa to whip the dippers and the Irish to do the grand slam.

Fingers crossed!!!!!!!!

The Irish got the Grand Slam in the end. Welsh didn't bother to play any rugby until half way through the second half, but you couldn't have asked for a more exciting finale!

And on the subject of Man U, my favourite piece of trivia was that my beloved Derby County had scored half of the goals against them scored in the previous three months, before last week's defeat anyway. Nigel "The Messiah" Clough's influence much? :P

In the Rugby Union Six Nations tournament, England beat the Scottish sides.

The writer of the original post now hopes that Newcastle United Football Club at least tie the game with Arsenal Football Club, Aston Villa Football Club beat Liverpool Football Club tomorrow and that the Irish Rugby Union side beat the Welsh Rugby Union side to achieve an unbeaten rating and win the entire tournament.

Postscript. Come on you Spurs!
Now you have lost me completely mate.

Give Clough jr a while and he'll have them riding high again.

Just saw a trailer for the Clough film on tv last night...wasn't even aware of it but will definitely go and see it. Love him or loathe the old boy, he was a great manager.

In German if that helps:

Guten Tag heute.

I have seen a few clips and Michael Sheen looks a dead ringer for Cloughie. It is about his 44 days at Leeds - where is Dave A?
Not a great lover of going to cinema (unless it is with the kids, Rosemary always falls asleep as soon as the lights go down - same as home ) and will wait for it to pop up on Sky.

Was probably Leeds biggest mistake sacking him so soon, my own personal opinion is that as good as Revie certainly was, Leeds were still the bridesmaids in many of the competitions they should have won, love or hate Leeds, the team that they had should have won many many more competitions than they did, IMHO Clough would have been the man to take them from nearly to winners.

I have resisted the urge to post the 7 minutes of football greatness where Leeds teased Southampton in the early 70s.

Sorry I cant resist, its not the 7 goals that make this match, it is the keep ball at the end, most of you will be too young to remember it, brilliant team work.

Remember it well, and that was another reason most people hated Dirty Leeds, especially me as you beat us in the FA cup final that year
