Daytona problem

When I wind my watch after 25 turns it starts to get tighter turning maybe because it has fully wound? Has anyone experience this with their Daytona ? My other Rolex has no problem with 40 -50 turns. Is this a problem I should be concerned with ?

Is there a grinding feeling or clicking when it starts getting tight? Any more history on the watch / servicing done?

My DaytonaC doesn't get noticably tighter when wound and Daytonas with the 4130 movements should take 70+ to fully wind (you can't overwind them either)

it's a 116500 from 2018 never serviced. There is a grinding feeling and clicking when it starts getting tight usualy around 25 plus turns.

You still have warranty on the watch, I would take advantage of that.

Can't say I've ever experienced that with my DaytonaC. Mine was purchased Dec 2017 from AD worn regularly in rotation. Best bet would be to bring it to your AD and have their watch maker feel the winding. If they think it's an issue send it to RSC for service.

that does have the release mechanism to prevent over winding no ?

The 4130, like other automatics, has a clutch that slips when it's fully wound to prevent over winding. Basically you end up turning the crown and it's not doing anything. It should not be getting tighter.

Where did you buy the watch from?

My SD43 and Tudor GMT start to feel more resistant to turn when winding reaches +,- 40 turns. Normal.

Tighter, yes. Hard to turn, no. There is a slight difference but it certainly shouldn't feel like it's going to break if you force it.

All of my watches get "tighter" and noticeably harder to wind as the mainspring winds.

If your watch feels the same when it is unwound as when it is wound, something is more likely wrong than the other way.

Agree. Have no where near the knowledge base as you sir but I found that to be the case with my sub

Where did you buy the watch from?

There is no clutch all that happens once mainspring is fully wound it just slips in the spring barrel just like it does when fully wound on the wrist.
