[Q] How to open Turn-o-graph bezel ?

Hello.

How to remove Turn-o-graph bezel ?
Is the method same as that of normal fluted or submariner bezel ?
Is there any precaution ?

This bezel has a tension ring, not a flat spring like the submariner.
To remove it you need a special tool (bezel remover tool) chance is the bezel and crystal retainer will come off together, if that happens when they are both off you can use a thin guitar pick or a press to remove the bezel from the retainer.

first remove the bezel:

After you removed the bezel you can see a gap between the inner ring and the insert, (see picture).
Use a guitar pick or simulair tool in this gap to gently remove the insert from the bezel.

After you removed the insert you can see the steel spring securing the bezel to the steel crystal retainer. you can use a small screwdriver to work the steel spring so you can remove the bezel from the steel retainer ring.

I dont have better pictures to show every step in detail, as I dont have the watch anymore.
it's a bit difficult job but its do-able if you ar familiar with working on rolex watch bezels

I can now fully understand the structure of the bezel.
I attached some pictures of same kinds of bezel.
I also draw the structure as I understand.
Lastly, can I remove the bezel using a knife as shown in the last picture ?

This is a good discussion - especially since the questions are being asked before you attempt to remove the ToG bezel.

Do you already know how to reassemble without the proper jig/tool. That ring spring could be a real fiddly fit when you go to the reassembly process.

I strongly advise you not to use a knife like that on your Rolex watch, this wil damage the bezel, it’s made of gold which is softer than the steel of the knive, also applying uneven pressure on the bezel with a knife like this wil also damage the case.
Please spend a few dollars on a bezel removal tool, even if you only use it once, it’s worth the money, the are cheap to find on EBay.

Actually there is a deep dent on the bezel (insert), so I was going to restore it. Therefore, I wanted to remove and separate the bezel (insert).

I will buy the bezel removal tool since I don't want to damage the bezel any more.

Is there any specific tool/jig/method to reassemble it ?
