Any Grand Seiko owners concerned about getting repairs done without sending to Japan?

This is what has stopped me from buying into the brand.

Is the only option for repair to send the watch to Japan?

What about after the warranty expires? Or if purchased on grey market?

Not a big deal. One thing about GS service is I have yet to have them not do something or send back a defective watch. I can not say this about Rolex.

it's not the same experience as a Rolex though... frankly, there are seikos from the 1970's still running strong.

Why would this concern anyone? They made the watch, why not go back to the mother ship for repairs/service?

This shouldn’t be a concern. They can do most of the service work in NJ, and no big deal of it needs to go to Japan. Just like no big deal if my PP etc needs to go to Switzerland.

Doesn’t even remotely concern me. In fact seiko being the powerhouse that they are gives me confidence I’ll always have their support down the road.

So far all my GS have been flawless. My most recent purchase is running +1 per week.

No concerns about GS. Over the years my experience with Rolex service has been 'variable', shall we say, and certainly no better than other brands. I've sent watches to Switzerland and Germany for service/repair without issue.

They have a service center on the east coast. That has never been a big concern for me - Most people have to ship any brand watch for service...especially in the rural parts.

Not a concern for me. If the watch needs service they will take care of it.
