FS: 1958 Rolex GMT-Master 6542 Bakelite Bezel

Serial #: 397XXX

Description: Case: Excellent case that has just returned from polishing with sharp prominent bevels. The bakelite bezel insert is in very good condition and only has a few cracks from wear. Dial: The excellent gilt dial has aged to a matte finish with light subtle patina present. The lume plots have aged to a sandy hue. The hands appear to be newer tritium units and have aged to a hue that closely matches the lume on the dial. Bracelet: The 11 link Rolex USA Oysterflex bracelet is in excellent condition and has very light stretch. The clasp is not stamped with a date code. Accessories: None. Notes: With an expertly refreshed case, this bakelite 6542 has defied the odds and remains intact and largely undamaged. Though fragile the bakelite bezel is a rare and beautiful component on top of an already stunning watch.
