As an ex military person, im intrigued by some of the special edition, military branded Breitlings, normally with a military crest on the face.
Are these a better investment than standard models?
Im specifically looking at the Aerospace variants.

You are going to get the standard response of, “watches are not a good investment. Buy to enjoy, not to make money.”

I do agree with that, but I also think that you should buy intelligently; you don’t want to pay retail if the watch you want is going to show up on Chrono24 at 1/2 price, full set, and great condition.

I would recommend that you identify comps and compare Chrono24 prices with their retail prices.

Also-see what trusted sellers on this forum are offering them. I think Breitlings generally go for a good discount from retail.

What I'm trying to say is that I've found 2 versions of the Aerospace Evo. One has a military crest on the face, one is standard. Both the same price. I intend to keep it forever but it would nice for my kids to inherit and know it would still retain a good resale value. I don't want it to be worth a lot less, just because it has a crest.

On a Breitling, they're good value with the exception of the Bentleys. Make them easier to trade or sell if the need arises...

From my research, they also don't gouge the SE models as much as say, Omega, Blancpain or Panerai do.

The Navitimer Swiss Air is an amazing special addition.
It might be the best Navitimer I have ever seen.

My thought is special editions or limited editions find value if the owner attaches value to it or as they if the owner finds them special.

Like the above SE, Navitimer Swiss Air would be special to a Swiss Air plane crew and therefore is valuable to them.
I don’t think it’ll be valued by a say, Quantas plane crew.

All depends on what military group is represented on the dial and whether someone from that group actually finds the ad. The problem with the military purchase variations, they were purchased at a significant discount and then the purchaser usually ends up trying to flip it for a profit. They generally are slow sellers unless that right person comes along. It's been me on more than one occasion. ;-)
