Where can I see what grey dealers pay?
I am just curious. Other than Bob's, does anyone else know of a place where grey dealers regularly post what they are paying for references? Thanks

This is your best answer. As a general rule, though, I think the markup is about 20% on most models. There is a ton of money to be made in selling used watches as a professional if the store describes accurately, takes stuff back within a timeframe with no questions asked, provides free insured shipping and is fair on purchase/trade in values.

Listed sell price less +/- 25% on most models. High demand easy to sell models less +/- 15%.
Many dealers have spoken about this openly on various formats.

I find that my favorite greys have a smaller mark up than that. My experience is in trading watches in for other watches and than watching those watches on the grey's website and seeing what it is listed for. Most of my watches are modern originating in 18 or 19 and each time I have traded the grey has marked up the watch about a grand or a little over and this is on watches in the teens for pricing.

Grey market dealers have a much smaller markup then you think on the hot Rolex models. Forget about Bobswatches and watchbox, ie the massive players and focus on the other greys.
They get no where close to 25% on a hot Rolex watch, unless they managed to fleece someone. There is so much competition now because of all the small players in the scene, many are willing to take a $10k+ watch and make $500-$1k on it. |

OK thx. So if I am looking at a mint BLNR for $15k, for example, it's a rather safe assumption that the grey paid somewhere around $12.75k (15%). And I suppose the going rate for Daytona's is $20k bid given BNIB pieces are nearing $25k ask. Thanks, this is helpful.

What other companies do we expect to advertise their costs?

I don't know any companies that advertise what they pay only what they want.

Depends on many variables as Brian mentioned. No fixed formula
