Nice looking watch, thoughtful gift for your wife. Congrats.

As it’s a done deal, my input won’t matter, however with an AD with which I have a relationship, one that provides good service, it’s never my intent to squeeze the biggest discount possible. I believe that kind of dynamic inhibits one’s ability to acquire other harder to source watches. Ok to ask, but feels to me in poor taste to push an AD with whom you’ve established a relationship.

She is thrilled, thank you.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion and I appreciate yours along with your explanation. My personal opinion is that an AD or anyone for that matter does not have to sell at a price they do not wish to do so. Furthermore if it inhibits my ability to buy a so called hard to get piece of metal life will go on. I have always felt my ability to connect and foster a relationship to be a strong point of mine.

So true - an AD (or anyone) doesn’t have to sell at a price that doesn’t work for them. And a buyer doesn’t have to purchase at a price that doesn’t work for them.

Congrats again, really thoughtful gift.

Agreed, which I think is directly correlated to the fact that many people on the "list" are saying thank you but no thank you. Whereas just months ago the phone calls were guaranteed sales. Time will tell how this all plays out.
