Hey,

Long time lurker, first time poster. Recently acquired a Tudor Black Bay 36 (79500-004). Love this watch. Keeping amazing time (-0.1/day). I was admiring it the other day and noticed what I thought was a small particle. Tired to clean it off and it didn’t work. It is very small and I am thinking of just living with it. Wondering if this small scratch will impact water performance. Called the local RSC and the wait time for a pressure test is ridiculous. I’ve attached some pictures. The first cut is the deepest.

Thank you! Just wanted some reassurance for when I take it in the lake. I couldn’t even feel it with a pin let alone a finger nail. Do crystal scratches typically cause water damage? Or is it more gasket and human error( forgot to screw down the crown)?

Congratulations. It does look minor. I agree with your assessment that it is something you could live with until it gets replaced during interval service

Thank you all for your advice. I wore it in the lake for the better part of a week and treated it like the tool watch that it is. As I was drying it off one day I noticed that the "scratch" had moved. Turns out it wasn't a scratch at all! Likely a piece of dust or something? All good. Glad I moved on and wore it with minimal hesitation.

Keep an eye on it.
On your watch, if it falls in between the hands, over time, it could do damage if it's hard like plastic, metal, or cured paint.

I had a small chunk of metal on the dial with their GMT, and sent it in for service as it may have fallen in the date window.
