Deciding on final two - opinions if you’re willing
Hi,
So I’m looking for my next piece or two and figured I’d come to the community here for some ideas and input. I am considering a full silver tone watch on bracelet that isn’t steel - so white gold or platinum (allergic to the nickel content in steel). I sold off a bunch of watches and currently have a modern yellow gold sub black dial and a white gold Oysterflex Daytona 116519ln. I was thinking about a white gold gmt but felt that it’s a little too similar to the sub. I know I know it’s a different watch and movement and I love the gmt but I can’t help but feel they are similar because of the bezel and bracelet. So I was considering maybe a white gold or platinum daydate 40 with blue or glacier dial. I think the bracelet it top notch and the day date is more durable than another brand for how much I’d be wearing it. The last watch I’d be looking at getting after that would be a rose gold on leather piece. A proper fancy piece. Probably a patek or AP to seal off the collection - At least for now haha. Any ideas or input on the duo? Interested in hearing people’s thoughts more for fun than anything. I figured the final collection would ideally be a yellow, white gold, rose gold, and platinum. Which included two bracelet watches, a leather, and a rubber. My little theory/justification of covering all grounds. Thanks you everyone for keeping me and everyone else distracted during these crazy times. Stay safe |

Why not a rosegold GMT? Or the root beer?

I’ll say white gold day date with the meteorite dial. It’s on my list at least

Personally I'd go with the PP AP choices for some higher end finishing and variety. I'm sure whichever is chosen will be very attractive a watch regardless.

A WG DD, because it is available with a fluted bezel, and an F.P. Journe Chronomètre Souverain.

I think the DD would compliment your collection better. I like your collecting rational, great variety and style. I bet they look amazing all together.
I know you didn't ask but someone mentioned the RG AP RO. That would definitely be in consideration for me too if I had your current collection. No-one does RG better than AP imo.

ALS or, obviously, FPJ would be a great diversification play. DD40 with iced dial is incredible.

My preference would be WG DD. The fluted bezel/deconstructed Romans are magic, and I actually prefer how gold wears throughout the day better than platinum. (I know, heresy, right? )
Good luck with your decision. |

AP RO 15500OR with rose gold bracelet would be good for your collection.
AP rose gold bracelet is one of the best looking. |
