Birthday Gift for the Wife

My wife’s birthday was just over a week ago and I spent weeks trying to figure out a gift for her. I’d tell her age, but she might be offended if she ever joined this forum lol. She had shown some interest in a 126234 DJ36, but has worn a few of my bigger watches and damn, do they look sexy when she wears them. I mean...she does, not the watches.

Almost bought a blue face Roman dial 126334 DJII from a grey, but decided to visit a local AD and they had actually had this one sitting in their case. I couldn’t resist and pulled the trigger. I wanted her first Rolex to be brand new, with her name on the card. But, I was nervous so the AD held onto the warranty card (unfillled), until I gave it to her and we could bring it back to be sized or returned if she didn’t like it.

I tried to wait until her birthday, but I couldn’t resist, so gave it to her the day after our anniversary, which was five days prior to her birthday. She was shocked and loved it! In fact, we went to the AD a few hours later and completed the transaction.

Interesting side story...while we were there, two other gentlemen came in. One, picking up two (yes, two) TT YMII he had ordered and the other picking up his Root Beer. That watch was amazing to see in person. Oh, and the AD tried to get me to purchase an Omega Seamaster James Bond Limited Edition he had just received earlier that day.

That's a great looking watch and without knowing what your wife looks like I would go white roman all day for a lady.

Did you get the old style card with her name on it?

Birthday Gift for the Wife

Great choice! I did an almost exact watch for my wife, but with the diamond bezel. She just had to have diamonds.

Photo with stickers at delivery.

BTW - The Rootbeer is awesome!

Very very nice.

I think the more ‘feminine’ pieces from Rolex are very underrated...

I’m single so haven't had the 'pleasure' of buying for the other half. However, I was out with my mum in Malaysia around Christmas. She fell in love with this piece and it ended up going home with her.

Beautiful watch, your wife will love it. Such a classic look with the white dial and Roman numerals. Post some wrist shots when you can!
