First post, 2001 bluesy owner & 2019 root beer

Hello,

Been watching & reading forum for 2-3 months now and decided to join. Some great users and enthusiasts without a doubt. I purchased my bluesy brand new from ad in 2001 and just purchased the root beer brand new late 2019 from ad as well. Both at retail cost. Very proud owner. The bluesy has never needed service and still pressure tests perfect after 19 years. Local ad said let the service go on the bluesy if there’s no issues. Good advice or no? Very proud owner. Here’s my only picture, sorry about the quality.

Welcome to TRF and that's a killer combo with those two watches!

If it's a daily and it's been 19 years it's definitely due for a service. I would if it were me.

Great pair and welcome to the forum

I agree with the AD. No need to service if nothing is wrong

Welcome and congrats. Can't hurt to have it serviced.

Good choices....I would not service the watch until its not working properly. However, if you take it into water, a pressure check is long overdue.

Thanks everybody!

B2 Stealth, yeah, but I can't say I don't look often, haha. The 16613 has just satisfied me for all of these 19 years and still does. When the wife saw the new rootbeer she went nuts. So, happy wife=happy life right? 22 years together. I can't say I disagree with her on the look of the rootbeer. Very amazing piece as well.

Best regards!

Love them both! I just purchased my Rootbeer in 2019 and it was between the Rootbeer and the Bluesy. Still love the look of the two-tone on the blue!

No need to service other than water resistance check until it shows a need. Nice pair of watches; you should be proud. Welcome!!!

I’d be servicing it, there are jewels wearing and lubricants drying out that can cause greater problems if not attended to?

Nice watches.

Whew, a very tough one for me personally. My 2001 bluesy has kept me very satisfied for 19 years, but now with the new root beer, I honestly couldn't separate the two. My wife says the root beer is by far the best looking watch she's ever seen. Keep the bluesy, and snag the root beer one day. I went 19 years in between my Rolex purchases.

Best Regards!

Just had it pressure tested in January and all is still perfect. A trooper for being 19 years old.

Thank you! I just had it pressure tested early this year and all was well. What does a service usually run and what all is done? Does it take a while to complete? Thx

Best Regards!

Welcome. I have a YG Daytona I bought in 2000 that also has never been serviced. I’m thinking of send it to Dallas RSC very soon. Good luck with your Bluesy.

Thank you. Glad to know I'm not the only one out here, haha. Mine has been solid as a rock and my local AD said to leave it alone unless something is not working correctly. Which direction do you go? It looks 50/50 based upon the suggestions in my post.

Best Regards!
