Anyone know if this AD was in business?
Gents,
I’m looking to purchase a 116660 from a Gentleman in my neighborhood. He purchased this watch from Swiss-wrist in 2009 and was under the impression that it was new and unworn. The warranty card says Serpico YLaino like below. I’m unsure if this place is still around or if it was around during the time tre Watch was purchased. The typo with the Y and L is what scares me, but the watch looks and feels excellent. Your expertise is appreciated! |

Go to Rolex.com and check out the AD’s in Caracas, Venezuela. They should still be in business.

I lived in Cacaras until 94, and visited the city occasionally until probably 2004. I had been to their boutique a couple of times (they were also PP AD). The warranty looks OK, from what I have seen. However, it seems like they now have a vintage division in Miami. You might want to contact them, and they should be in a better position to help you. (https://serpicoylaino.us)Some vintage Rolex pieces had their Serpico Y Laino name on the dial, currently worth a lot. Good luck!

Serpicoylaino
I just bought a watch thru a non auth Rolex jeweler and on card it has serpicoylaino. Told that my watch is brand new and unworn. Is this possible? Or am i being sold a pre-owned watch?

If you are buying from a non Rolex AD, you are most likely buying a pre-owned piece as the dealer you are working with bought the watch from an AD or someone and is the first or second owner. Whether, it unworn is doubtful as being in the used market it most likely has been tried on and worn for short periods in the stores quite a bit. Unworn is still in the coffin by literal definition.
