116500 vs. 116520 weight

Hello all! I was wondering if the new Daytona ceramic is lighter or heavier than its older counterparts. I know for fact that the old ones weigh 140 grams. How much you reckon the new one is?
Thanks.

I can't tell you exactly....but it feels darn similar on my wrist.....I doubt I'd be able to detect 5-10g weight differences though on my wrist.....

Just cannot understand today the fixation about the weight and size of watches, do being bigger and heavier make them better.?

Well not for me, I always looked for smaller if not necessarily lightweight watches. 40 mm is perfect for me. No more. My Daytona's size is perfect as is its weight of 140 g.

I might have to check the calibration of my electronic balance, but my 116520 with one link off and a ceramic bezel weighted 138 grams.

It has the WG dial and hands upgrade too, so that should also account for a little extra weight as well

The plastic around the bezel make it lighter:-)

Well seeing ceramic is lighter than a SS bezel simple logic would say its lighter. As apart from the ceramic bezel and slightly different dials it exactly the same old Daytona watch.

That's funny because SS other Rolex variants weigh more than SS Daytona.

Maybe for some people lighter makes them better. Some people like small watches and some like big. Some like green and some like blue.

Aside from simple preference, it's just a small bit of information that makes WIS, WIS.

Certainly you can understand that.

Anyone remember JJ weighing his watches at his local butcher?

You'd have a pretty sensitive wrist if that were the case. I've always found Daytonas to be on the lighter end of Rolex models. Especially when compared to the divers, of course.

What about 116520 vs. 16520, today I received the zenith one from Chrono24 24, it feels much lighter than the 2 following generations.
I used to have it 20 years ago and don’t remember was so light, should I take it to Rolex in order to check if it’s real?
