Question for the SPB14X owners.

How has your accuracy been after the first couple of weeks? My 149 was spot on for the first 5 days, then sped up to about +12 to +15 s/pd over the last couple of days. I’m guessing it will slow down again as it settles. If not I’ll have it regulated at my AD (I fully expected this at the time of purchase). So what have you guys experienced?

Just to clarify, I am not complaining. I’m very impressed with my 149, bracelet and all. My Sub and GMT are getting lonely in my watch box.

That is running great. Why would you worry about +6 a day? It within Seiko specs.

To get an accurate reading time it over 4-5 days. Not 24 hours.

I know, I know. I can be a bit OCD with accuracy. I’m just trying to figure out why the sudden gain in the last two days. Positional variance on the 4R/6R movements are wanting. My Rolexes and Omegas had zero settle period, whereas my SRP777 and Doxa both slowed down after about 2-3 weeks. It’s either settling or it is speeding up due to my daily PT?

I’m going to give it a month before I even think of regulating it. I was hoping someone had a similar experience.

I own the SPB143, 147 and 149 and they are all plus 4-6 seconds a day. I rotate through watches so I am not sure what I would see if I gave one of the watches 24-48 hours on the wrist but we could see. They are great watches.

Thank you. I woke up this morning and noticed it gained 21 seconds in 24 hrs. I’ve been wearing it 24/7 for just over a week. I’m curious to see how it performs this week...

My bad. You said this above "then sped up to about +12 to +15 s/pd over the last couple of days". So I thought you timed it over a few days.

Seiko will not warranty a regulation if the watch is in spec. And this one is.

Thanks man. I’m really not too concerned, and I’m definitely not sending it in. I’m pretty new to Seiko and know the 7S/4R/6R movements need time to “settle” or adjust to the owner’s wearing habits. At the end of the day, if it’s outside of 10 sec per day I’ll have my AD regulate it. He doesn’t charge me and it gives me a chance to check out some live watch porn!
