OMG yes. The years after my divorce with a big alimony and child support then a 39% reduction in pay all the while still having to pay the same amounts based upon a now distant income were quite difficult. Like very. But as with all things that has passed and time changes. Another reason why I was feeling a tad nostalgic yesterday.

Great story. Glad to see you were able to re-add it!

When I look at pieces, I feel the same thing. The 14060M (my first Rolex and AD experience), my ExII (takes me back to Colorado), SKX 009 (first trip to The Philippines). Each piece has a story and emotion tied to it.

Enjoy your collection, I know how you feel, I posted a while back about how I had a feel good factor every day I put on my watch (first Rolex for me) and I’ve not experienced that feeling for a long time, good health.

As much as I love love my Exp II I just had to put this back on this morning. Still thankful no matter what’s on my wrist.

What a lovely sentiment - and a beautiful watch! Wear it in good health.

The 216570 was my first brand new Rolex purchased at an A D and it reminds of a time way back when you could walk in and pick up just about any stainless sport model except Daytona. It also reminded me of that phone call when the sales rep called me and said when are you coming in to pick it up? As I had called earlier to see if they had a black dial version. I still remember how excited I was during that 15 minute drive. That first brand new Rolex A D experience. Granted I sold that actual one many years ago.

The years have seemed to roll by fast and since then I have now amassed a decent collection which is still something I marvel at. Even though the last 12 months have been quite special for me with 4 incomings, SD, SDK, SkyD, and this EXP II nothing has been quite as special as thinking about the first. Which was the main reason I had to get this baby back. It was also purchased brand new at the exact same A D. August 25th 2012 versus December 4th 2019.

So as the title reads just thought I’d do a post about being thankful and tell a little story about one of the best watch feelings I’ve ever had that may have been the best ever. Well maybe the SkyD feeling was a tad better
