When it's a dimension quoted by Rolex. What do the new watches mean in term of dimensions. Has anyone seen them actually measured? Any calipers in action yet?

Well Lee eventually the new case dimension will be disected; anyway am happy with the 5 series Subs and GMTs and won’t buy any new model so not important to me at this time

Seems like Rolex just added 0.5mm in case size and 1 mm increase in bracelet size at the end link and made for a watch that looks more visually slim than it really is. I think these will be very well received, and prior 6 digit Subs will be just as in demand.

I bet the OP39 is the same size as the OP41 (it's the same p/n with a 2 in it for the movement)

If you measure the bezel on the web you can get very close. My SD43 bezel with the knurls has an actual 43mm bezel. The web page on my screen has it at 68mm. The same webpage has the new Sub at 65mm. That logic makes the actual new sub bezel from knurl to knurl at 41.1mm

Providing of course that the magnification of the photo is the same. I'm a metrologist (I make measurements professionally). A standard joke is, "what do you want it to measure?"

I kind of agree, but the catalog pics are actual size in paper. Why would Rolex have difference magnification on the website between watches. I checked the Daytona (measured the black ceramic) on the web, which was 64mm. That implies 40mm. Check some watches and see if my logic is right.

Whatever the actual case size is, and disregarding what is advertised and how/where it is measured, the real salient measurement for me is really the lug-to-lug or end-link-to-end-link distance & the shape/curvature (if any) of the lugs. I've loved many watches in photos, with measured dimensions that theoretically should work for me, that I just couldn't wear b/c of their real-world geometry.

For me, loving the look of the new 41 mm Sub, but just have to try it on IRL. If it doesn't work, then I'll go for a nice 5 digit.
