Tudor GMT - MORE date issues?

So I had my BB GMT Date wheel issue fixed in November 2019. 9 months later and I checked the watch on its winder this morning, only to find it’s jumped 5 days too far ahead, over the course of a week...

Has anyone else heard of, or experienced, a “fixed” GMT with a second date wheel issue?

I’m hoping it’ll be covered by warranty again but obviously the watch is coming to the end of its (extended 3.5year) warranty.

Do you know if the warranty repairs also have a warranty on them? Or is that wishful thinking..

You know, regardless of the warranty timeline they need to fix this for you. This is a known and re-occurring problem since day one of this release.

I own this watch and love its looks and accuracy but I never take it off the winder without having a moment's worry to see if the date will be stuck again.

Which sucks. And Tudor sucks for letting this drag on and on and on...good luck with it, mate. I would give them hell...

I got my watch two years ago when it was just launched. Had the same issue which didn’t get fixed even with 3 service repairs on the date jumper spring. Eventually the AD / Tudor agreed to a movement swap and the watch has been perfect ever since...

I have been researching buying a GMT so have been asking all the people I know that own this watch.

All the feedback that I have gotten states that you are gambling if you buy a GMT. Not scientific, just me asking about 15-20 people.

1. Some have the watch, get the issue, get it fixed, and have not had the issue again.

2. Some have the watch, get the issue, get it fixed, and have the issue again requiring it to be sent back.

3. I asked a good mixture of people that bought it a year or more ago and others who bought in the past few months watching the AD pull it out of the coffin.

I may be missing out on a great watch but the reliability is enough for me to hold off.

I bought mine second hand in late April 2019. I have not had the date issue. The watch keeps great time and has rarely left my risk.

I just got one yesterday that they had just received in. The AD admitted to the issue in the past but claims all the new ones coming for about the past year have not had any issues...at least from what they have seen.

I chose to take the risk as I really like the watch. Hopefully he was being truthful.

100% not true. They just wanted to make the sale.

I know plenty of guys and there are several on here with 2020 dated watches still having issues some as late as last month.

Well that’s disappointing. I guess we’ll just have to see.

And I have you to thank for recommending this beauty! Since the fix, it’s run flawlessly. Keeps great time. Was just recommending to the OP to stand firm and make them fix it.

Stay safe!

My 8/2019 has had no issues. I think the issue effects a very small minority of watches.

Yes, a friend of mine has one that skipped dates forward (by 1 day), after having been repaired for sticky date issue.

This issue, alone, is why I've been off all Tudor.....It just puzzles me how it has been allowed to go on so long....

Yes, I recall reading a poster here who had it "fixed" three times before deciding to get rid of it because it was not fixed.

I decided to roll the dice and get one a few weeks ago. The way the issue has been handled has been disappointing considering the price, but if it happens to my watch I just don’t think it will bother me. I usually alternate watches often, so I usually have to reset the date when I wear the next one in the lineup anyway. And it takes like 5 seconds to reset the date.

If it was a quick fix via AD the issue returns. If it was fixed in Switzerland via movement swap by mothership its sorted for good. So if you guys get the issue insist on a movement swap to be done.

I traded mine in a few weeks ago with my AD as part payment towards my 126710BLNR. I picked up the BBGMT in Nov 19 and it ran flawlessly.

A great watch and I loved it with no issues or fear... only reason it went is my rule for my collection being never two of the same style - needless to say the BLNR won the battle of the GMTs in my watch box.

Is this a one off issue or does it reflect more general design/quality control problems within Tudor?
Was tempted towards a Pelagos but not so sure now.

Some people have had misaligned bezels on their new BB58 blues and when I went to look at one last week there was a metal shaving on the dial. I think it's fair to say their quality control isn't up to Rolex standards but they are still great watches. As soon as the AD remove the metal shaving from under the crystal, I'll be buying that BB58.

Mine is currently with RSC for the date wheel issue. On week 10 now. Love the watch and no intention to sell it. Just hoping they finally get this issue sorted out.

A quick search about Rolex QC would question your assessment about the brand. Plenty of misaligned bezels and particles under the crystal. There are examples with every brand.

Thanks for the feedback, all. Glad I'm not the only one with recurring issues, as that should make it slightly less painful trying to explain and get it resolved properly.

Harrods in London is the AD I used, and they have been very good from a customer service perspective, but I will ask specifically for a movement replacement - that seems to be the most consistent solution.

For those considering taking the plunge, as long as it's not your only watch, I would still recommend it as it is a great watch. Very accurate (more so than my Explorer 214270), I really love it - it's a perfect holiday watch with great colours, good to swim with, and attracts slightly less attention than a Rolex.

I'm not ready to get rid of it just yet.
