My take is if it makes you happy do it.

The main factor to consider is if you have a good independent watchmaker to make the change and be able to service the watches from here on out. RSCs will require turning the watch back to stock as part of service or they won’t work on them once changes are made.
If this is the case, then I personally would not. But if it makes you happy, go for it!

I definitely plan on keeping the original dial. Just can't get over how nice the slate dial looks with the black ceramic insert.

Some of the photos on this thread remind me just how good SS and WG bezels looks on these watches.

Can anyone suggest a reputable shop to buy aftermarket/genuine dials to do a swap?

I support it, do whatever you like, but bear in mind that you have to handle it with extra care as you may damage the dial or hands if you do this often and it will significantly impact your happiness.

I saw someone swap the "panda" dial of the 116519LN into a 116500 and I have to say it looks quite amazing.

I'm not one for swapping any parts but it's only a temporary and easily reversible change (assuming you are not selling any of the original parts off).

If you think you'd enjoy the watch more with the different dial- then why not?

Agreed, but they must be in (near)mint condition.
Minty or only very very lighty polished otherwise these whitegold bezels look absolutely horrible !! Thats the biggest downside for all the gold Daytona references without ceramic bezels.

This is how it should be !

Man... those red subdial Daytonas on the racing dials just rule. Beautiful.

I honestly dont mind, if you mix and match dials it is your watch after all. I guess transparancy is important if you want to resale, but if the dial and reference are correct then i dont see the problem.

I agree, if the dial is correct for the reference it is perfectly acceptable.
