I'm confused after received the watch from RSC

I have a Tudor BB GMT 79830 with a date-changing issue, I told RSC at Dallas and they offer me to change the date function part. Because of the COVID-19 situation, it took me almost 2 months to get it done.

I don't have time to check the watch until today. I read the invoice, it seems they serviced the movement (which I did not realize). The part that confused me the most is the "acrylic crystal".

First, Tudor BB GMT uses the sapphire crystal, not acrylic crystal, am I correct?
Second, When I give RSC my watch, they did not mention any defect of the crystal, why replace it?

Anyone knows why is that? Do you have the same experience?

This is the exact message I got when my date wheel issue was fixed. I think it’s likely just standard language.

Looks like generic service wordings to me. Also, it says “Where applicable”.

Maybe the person who typed the note made an error on the acrylic part .

It's a general problem for many Tudor GMT, the date will be stuck between 2 dates when it jumps

Likely a copy pasted generic pre-typed message.

Rolex/Tudor haven’t used acrylic crystals in a very long time. Your Tudor GMT uses a sapphire crystal

That is a generic response from years back and they simply never bothered to modernize it.

Standard lingo, which would not apply to your watch, since yours has a sapphire crystal.

Yep I got the exact same response with mine. It annoyed me because my movement was replaced but now I have no proof that it was actually done. The crystal stuff is boiler plate and says "where applicable" so they only replace it if they need to.

You'll never know, I should ask about it when they passed me the watch :)

The Datejust had an acrylic crystal up until what, 1989? They do still service them, and I can attest that a crystal replacement was standard a couple years ago when I had my 1601 serviced at RSC Dallas.

Sapphire gets reused unless there's a problem. They replaced the sapphire on my wife's OP 26mm last year, but it dated to 1990 and had never been serviced and was chipped on the edge.

Tudors response to the date wheel issue has been abysmal.
