Monte Verde rant

Does anyone else find Monte Verde refills to be junk? I have been through 2 packs already and the writing is always spotty and just feels cheap. Absolutely nothing like a genuine Mont Blanc refill. Very frustrating.

But they are also not priced like Montblanc refills.

It is hard to justify the price of a MB refill, be it ink pen or roller ball. While I agree with the OP, I can make do with generic refills, especially as fast as I go thru them.

Monte Verde refills were junk 20 years ago. I never went back, I couldn't tell you if they've ever improved.

Refills are always problematic.

But there are a lot of options. If you will continue searching.

Why would you buy a MB if you are going to use aftermarket refills?

Isn’t the quality of the writing the reason you bought a MB in the first place?

Why rant about a cheap alternative?

From my premium pens I only use premium refills and have had no issues. I don't plan to skimp on this. It's 24 dollars for two refils and they last for over a year. Completely immaterial cost.
