It works pretty well for me so far! And i also am guilty of blow drying my car after a wash as well!

Nothing you can do about it. Every time you wiped your watch you are causing micro scratches. So basically, you are putting micro scratches on top of micro scratches.

Yeah, shower with it and let it air-dry... best approach.

OP - it truly is just a watch.

OP: no matter how much stick some of these guys give you here, most of us have gone through it with our first good watches. I was lucky that my first Rolex was pre-owned and already scratched, I never had that period of trying to avoid the first scratch.

Enjoy, you have a great watch!

Hahahaha brilliant if you are going to pull someone up on grammatical errors you better make sure you are right.... but you're not.

I guess so, but it would make sense to quote the person he was referencing rather than a completely different post, that he makes no reference to, which also contains the word "your" twice.

I still prefer my interpretation for the cheap laugh.

Yes you are, a watch is meant to be worn and enjoyed. The scratches you get on it, it just builds character.

Why people persist with the 'its a tool watch' theme beggars belief.
Because, very simply it's not a luxury watch! It is a 'professional' diving watch, not a piece of jewellery made from precious metal. You are confusing luxury with expensive.

It will be fine and you’ll get over it quick.

My heart skipped a beat too when I whacked my new Rolex against something and took a small chunk out of it. Now, it’s covered in various scratches and I love it just as much, maybe more.

Oh man, the first watch I got (Omega Speedmaster) I was obsessed with it - cleaning it everyday, winding, putting in a watch box, wearing it only on bid days, etc... now my moonwatch and sub and everyday watches. Sub is actually pretty scratch resistant, it's the moonwatch that is a scratch-magnet;)

Yes, but the broader public regard them as being in the realms of a luxury watch.
Perhaps it's just the price point

I’ve never dropped it, bumped it, or done anything rough with it. Of course, since it’s my new item, I look at it and clean it with a microfiber cloth every night. I’m surprised to already be noticing some signs of wear on the watch. I’ll call these “micro scratches” because they aren’t noticeable unless I shine a light on the watch and look at the right angle. Mostly on the case flank and bracelet. Is this normal? Am I being the “overprotective/hypervigilant new parent”? If so, just reassure me and tell me to stop overreacting. This is not a complaint, just wondering if this is something one with more experience than myself would expect. Thanks
You are the perfect candidate to:

1. Never buy a loupe;
2. Never buy a timegrapher;
3. Never buy precious metal.

My gold watches collect swirls just from looking at them...

Actually was referring to this post:
"Short answer.. yes your over reacting
Long answer.. yes your over reacting"

So by my count, I'm right. Thanks for playing though, Jim. Would also like to point out that four periods is one too many to demonstrate a natural break in a sentence. Three is sufficient.

#grammarwars!

I don't mind the ridicule. All in good fun. Thanks again, gentlemen. Cheers until my next dumb question.

You are talking about a black sub....that thing is built to take a beating. The most kinks and swirls the better...wear those with pride. The absolutely worst that can happen is every few years you send it for service and request glass swapped. It won’t set you back too much.
