My buddy has some serious pieces through the CM boutique. He gave me an intro when I was getting my dato serviced (didn’t buy there as I got a 403).

How is the availability of the WG Odysseus vs the steel version at the moment?

WG has been trickling in.

Steel, I haven't seen a new one in a while.

I wish brands would stop idolizing Steel as a metal.

The SS is a relationship piece and requires substantial previous spend but it seems to vary by AD/location quite a bit. I know someone who has spent a lot more than me but was unable to get an allocation for some reason, but mine should be here q4 2021.

The WG I think is readily available with a bit of a wait.

Good luck with your SS Odysseus. I've mine already but might add a WG version too. Any news whether Lange will add new complications to the Odysseus soon or are they focusing on matching demand for the current pieces first?

I just placed an order for one too! but since i also wanted initials to be engraved on the movement, it will take another 2-3 months. It is a beautiful piece to hold and so much better than it looks at the pic!!!

Wait a minute... You can have them do that?!

Oh goodness, I've been missing out.

Do you know if they allow that on any piece? Or just specific references?

Any piece and you can also send a piece back to have it added.

Whaaaat.

Just blew my mind. I cannot believe I never knew this.

Will have to take advantage of this going forward. Too lazy to send pieces back.

Also good to know is that if you register a piece via their website (either new or used) you will receive a written confirmation and a cleaning cloth personalised with the case and/or movement numbers of the piece (I think it is both).

HAHA! YES any piece like what Russel said. I was told a few days before my order too! I think it wont be too late if you ask your AD since it hasn't delivered the piece to you yet.

I was shown the design and the engraving blended in perfectly. Should def try it!

Lange's service webpage acknowledges that they will engrave initials on the movements: "One of the most beautiful and discreet personalisation options is the engraving of your initials on the balance cock. This is even possible after the purchase and can best be carried out as part of an overhaul, but we also offer this service outside of maintenance."

Clearly I've never read their service website.

Thanks for this info! I appreciate it.
