Stolen rolex / fraud of a rolex
Hi everyone, My name is Fin. Last week on the 4th of November I met up with someone who wanted to buy my rolex submariner date ref 116610LN.
She did a direct bank transfer and while it didn't clear instantly, I read it can take up to a few hours or even a working day for funds of that large of an amount to clear. I had a picture evidence of the bank statement she provided me and it all seemed to check out. Long of the short of it is I made a very stupid mistake and was a victim of fraud. She has now got my £11,000 rolex watch. I need your help if you can. Because she made a few fatal errors when looking back on it there is a fair chance she will try to sell this watch somewhere obvious, like a pawn shop. There is a filed police report but I need people to keep an eye out for this watch. Ref: 116610LN 2011 model Serial Number: 07N958X7 This took place in Stratford London at around 8:30 PM at my apartment blocks concierge This watch is now registered stolen. Anyone who may have bought this watch or comes across it should report it to the police as well as emailing me. Thanks to everyone who took the time to read this, Have a blessed day. |

I’m sorry to hear this, at least it was not a violent robbery but surely it hurts.

I really hope so. Theyve messed with the wrong person. I will not stop fighting this. Whats stupid is they arent professionals, and they wont be able to shift that watch, especially in london that easily being ammatures.

Did this happen in a public place with cctv? How/where did you advertise the watch?

Just a thought, if she did a direct bank transfer, wouldn’t they have record of the source account and thus the name/address of the person you met up with?

I am always sorry to hear these stories, day in and day out on this forum. Most are like this story — failure to take even basic steps to protect oneself. I just do. Not. Get. It.

Just for the record for other readers, here in uk (this comes from Lloyd’s Bank) with a direct transfer, until funds read as credited on your banking app for example then they are not there. Once there they cannot be refunded without a case being opened by senders bank, if perhaps fraud is suspected.
OP very sorry about this, hopefully cctv May also help in tracking her.

It would appear to be fake. Probably fake statements.

But sadly they will be able to shift it very easily to pretty much any grey dealer, it won't get flagged as stolen until someone sends it in for a service. On the other hand they could just be an opportunist that intended to buy for themselves and took advantage of the fact you released the watch before funds were cleared. The fact you should be able to trace their bank and have them on CCTV is in your favour. |

Paul Thorpe did a video on a similar topic, a lot of scam methods out there. I hope you will get your watch back man, sorry for your loss.
