This really struck me as i just bought a 37mm yacht master for my girlfriend as there was no other choice and thankfully its a watch she's always wanted.

haha. No I think the attraction is the larger size for the ladies. Usually the 37mm sport models are less popular among the ladies I know. I have seen some ladies rock Panerai watches which look HUGE, but somehow works on them.
