Yes, Its called the Oxford motif mother of pearl dial. Very rare. Thanks the watch is in like-new condition with no bracelet stretch.

Btw anyone know if the 118206 ref included ceramic links like the DD2?

Nice, congrats! I love my YG DD36. I also have a 118206, and much to my chagrin (bracelet stretch drives me nuts!), the sleeves weren’t integrated back then. I’m not sure if even the 128xxx models have them, but I haven’t looked since they don’t seem to offer a 36mm platinum version. I guess a “128206” would be the natural successor to mine, if it existed.

Beautiful watch!

Might I ask how long the wait was to acquire?

This is my next watch but I need to sell a few first:)

I had my eye on it for 2 years. Called an AD to ask if they had one, they did, and I pulled the trigger on it a week later.
You certainly won’t be disappointed.

Does anyone know why Rolex no longer makes the 36mm Day Date in Platinum? Will they ever be releasing it in 36mm again?

You know, I wondered the same thing. Before buying my 118206, I tried figuring that out. Since I don’t have a preference for the design of the newer end links of the 128xxx models, it all came down to the 3255’s extended 70-hour power reserve, and more importantly to me, the ceramic sleeves to eliminate bracelet stretch. When I realized they’d discontinued the PT models, like you’ve mentioned, I went forward.

I figured they already used the 3155 for a full 40 years of production, and I’d already enjoyed years of good luck with that movement in my collection. Truth be told, I’m not sure a “128206” would’ve been a justifiable move for only the 2 reasons above (though the potential for bracelet stretch may eventually change my mind), so I’m really pleased with the overall value proposition. Even my YG President doesn’t get enough wrist time to see any noticeable stretch, and it’s been 10 years.

Does anyone know something other than the anecdotal about this?

Amazing watch, congrats! I remember trying one on a few years ago and the weight of the platinum and the ice blue face cannot be beat!

Love the quadrant dial and the gun blued hands. It's the blued hands and numbers that drive me nuts. Beautiful. On my list...

Would be a perfect watch, if it had the newer clasp.

I never thought I would get another diamond dial but I really adore this one!

IMO the baguettes blend with the smooth bezel in perfect harmony. Very subtle.

Tracking this down and making it happen have been a long time coming. (This is also my 1st experience posting photos, my apologies in advance!) Had I been more on the ball, this incoming would’ve happened quite awhile back.

Though not my only President, this represents a grail for me. I feel humbled and blessed to be it’s steward and a part of this thread. To those who’ve helped me put this together or otherwise contributed helpful information, thank you! More photos to come.

Love being a member of this club! Though I realized quickly that due to the weight, you have to wear your watch a bit tigher than normal.

I’ve got the factory options for newer-style DD36s like mine, but not the one showing options for 40s or 41s. Sorry.
