Sub is at +20 a day!

I bought a 2004 16610 about a month ago, and it was running ok, about +5 a day.

More recently it's been increasing more per day.
I wound it last night at 24 hours later it is +21.

I don't believe it's had a service at all in it's lifetime, so I will have to take in for one.

Does anyone know what may be the cause of the "sudden" increase in time from around +5 to +20.

Is there damage (I haven't dropped it or anything) where I will need to replace parts as opposed to just a simple regulation ?
Will this be an easy fix for Rolex Service Centre?

could be magnetized. wave the watch near a compass and see if the needle reacts. if this is the problem, a cheapo $15 demagnetizer can be had from amazon that actually works.

It definitely sounds like it needs to be serviced. No easy way out.

Magnetized in all likelihood. Get a watch demagnitizer and try that before a service. The service will run $850+ the device about 15 bucks.

No harm in having it serviced. Especially if it's been 16 years.

Demagnetize, then recheck.

Just have it serviced and your watch will work and look like brand new

If the gain happened that quickly, it was most likely magnetized. Probably cell phone related.

The watch is 16 years old regardless of time keeping. Do right by it and have it serviced. The oils are likely used up and full of grime, and the seals are in need of replacement.

+ 5 a day has never been ok. My 16613 from 1998 runs at +1.97 a day over 3 weeks now. My 16622 (2004) runs at +0,99 per day over the same period.
