Sending my watch to Rusty at AWCO today.
It has not run in over 50 years so I'm excited it's being brought back to life.

I was kind of curious, so I googled it. I am in the US, and I have only heard it referred to as a demi-hunter.
So, I googled half-hunter. It appears to me that it mostly shows up on UK websites.
Demi sounds more formal than half hunter, I would have expected to be more prevalent the other way around. Just, thought it was a unexpected observation.

The American Waltham though appears with be gold with a beautifully finished movement that still winds and runs. I pull it out from time to time to wind it and watch and listen to it run.

If anyone would have more info I’d love to hear it!

The American Waltham is really remarkable. Thank you so much for sharing that. I would love to see this thread really get going. I have a couple also. I absolutely love pocket watches. Especially the history behind them. It’s so great that most of them still run and a quite easy to fix. I have a guy in Orlando that can fix these if anyone’s interested.
