Finally got my strap on!

Hey hey hey, take it easy...I'm on my fourth beers on this corona Friday night.

So I recently purchased a polar Explorer 2 to celebrate my first real estate listing. I've been wanting one for a while and stared at prices steadily increasing. Found a nice example that had just been serviced by RSC and snagged it on the first day. Pretty stoked!

Anyhoo, I already have my Sub on Oyster bracelet, so why not have some fun and get this Explorer on a rubber strap I say. Did the Everest vs Rubber B showdown thing, and ultimately settled on Everest, if mostly due to the fact that I didn't have to cut the strap to size like on the RB.

Ordering was painless and got to me in a couple days. I threw it on, and let me tell you. My 16570 has been well loved since its 2003ish inception. Its lugs have some battle scars from the straps being swapped pretty often. So it didn't hurt me as much when I changed it and added some extra character to the lugs.

The Everest strap was a breeze to install. I've read prior reviews they were difficult but I didn't experience it at all. It just popped right in. I did the deployant option as I did not like the look of the extra rubber wrapping around. It looks much more OEM when you use the Rolex clasp on this thing.

Put it on after a few adjustments and yes, it feels real nice. It's soft out of the box, and I'm sure it'll get softer with more use. It's super comfy and lightweight compared to the Oyster. I really like the look of it but it would be even more sweet with a black bezel (like the Omega SM300m on rubber).

The quality is excellent, the rubber is thick compared to my $20 Amazon special. That said, I dunno if $220 is the right price point. Let's face it, $220 is a pretty penny when you're buying a couple piece of premium rubber. I feel like $150ish should be more consumer friendly. I know I know, I just dropped $8k on a watch, what's 2.5% more, right?

At the end of the day, I'll still recommend this fine rubber strap. With the caveat that you get the deployant option to make it look like factory. Even more so if you have another watch that you could use it on. Different straps just change the entire feel of the watch.

That actually looks pretty good using the older generation Oyster lock.

Dude what is it about you and " poor man's" this or other... just say you don't like rubber straps... you must have some deep issues with money or lack there of, my friend. You might want to see a professional about that...

Looks fantastic! The 16570 white dial is one of my favorite 5 digit models as of late. Looks great on the rubber strap and the OEM clasp makes a huge difference.

I put a black Rubber B on my Sub last spring. Kept it on all the way through summer and into the fall. Just changed out in December and put the bracelet back on.

The best thing about it was how much lighter the watch was with it on. I preferred the Tang buckle myself. during the summer I didn't have to worry about sweat or anything. I would occasionally just clean the strap. I also didn't have to worry about scratches to the bracelet either.

I agree though. The price is pretty steep for the two pieces of Rubber. So at this point I just hope it lasts a long time.

I was just kidding. Especially after all the grief I got on the last thread. Don't mind me.

You may want to say JK, or Chuckles, or sarcasm implied, hahaha... cause after your post response to gateway drug Tudor to Rolex folks will think your serious.

Alligator looks great, but doesn't work so great in salt water.
