I have an Explorer 1 and have never ever worn it with the bracelet.

Leather straps, Natos (all kinds), and Erikas Original straps are all that have ever touched it. I must have 30 straps at this point. I scratch the new watch itch by buying a new strap instead.

I don't like bracelets of any kind from any manufacturer. Tudor and GS got close with their titanium ones but still a no go for me.

Why the worry of spring bars failing with a nato or similar 1 piece strap?
Is it really a thing? What are the physics of it all....someone grabbing the watch head and pulling?
Seriously, besides the..."i have a friend who lost a solid gold Patek"... has anyone actually had that happen or is it just the anecdotal paranoia?
I have been wearing watches on 1 piece cloth straps for 40 years and i have NEVER lost a watch... and i am not nice to my watches. I wear them working on cars, doing construction, surfing, etc. They all show scars...my superocean pro had welding spatter on it for awhile til i chipped it off...but i have never lost one.

I wear mine Explorer 14270 on a NATO, the case is with lug holes and I use shoulder-less spring bars. The 36mm oyster case is perfect for NATO, wear my Tudor Cali dial that way as well. Wears light and comfortable.

My 214270 stays on the bracelet.

The last real Rolex tool watch IMO. Love my 214270 MK1. Just perfect for those days when you want understated style and class

Explorer 1 goes very well with most Nato straps in my opinion. It's an explorer!

Sorry but I really hate nato straps on any watch.
Looks loads better on the bracelet in my opinion

I'm convinced that the Explorer of any reference looks good on just about any strap. That's what makes the piece so versatile and a good fit for any activity.

The 114270 was my first Rolex and I wouldn't take it off the bracelet, personally, but I've seen a lot of combinations through the years, and I don't think I've seen one that I didn't like, except maybe for the choice of colors, which is just a matter of taste.

Here's mine and yes, I've posted this picture many times, which I took on the day I bought it, and I like it, for those who've commented on it in the past.
