Degree of difficulty in acquiring a SS Daytona vs OF
I’ve suddenly developed a deep love for a YG OF Daytona. I’ve never really inquired about one before but will do so this week. I’ve noticed the gray prices have gone to the moon on the OF and if that’s any indication I’m assuming that sourcing one from an AD is just as difficult as a SS 116500? Would that be accurate in your estimation? Thanks fellas

Degree of difficulty in acquiring a SS Daytona vs OF
Quote:
In my experience in London, the white gold OF Daytona is the most difficult of the OF’s.... but not as difficult as the stainless steel Daytona. My dealer promised a white gold OF to me 6 months ago to the day,and quoted 6 months originally. I enquired yesterday, and I’m still waiting but I was reassured mine was coming “soon”. I was offered a yellow gold on two separate occasions by two different dealers, and passed them both. Although very beautiful, the yellow gold is not for me. Not a representative pool at all of course, but leads me to believe the yellow gold is not “that” difficult to obtain, although they don’t seem to be sitting around. |

I can only speak for my AD, but at mine it is still MUCH more difficult to source a SS (particularly white) than any OF. The only OF with a "waiting list" at all is the silver dial.

All OF Daytona are getting harder to acquire now but they are still easier than SS Daytona both white and black dials.

I waited 7 months for a WG OF no purchase history. But that was Jan-August 2020.

I recently asked my AD about a SS Panda and they said that would be impossible to get. I told them a WG OF would make me happy and they said that one is extremely hard to get but not impossible.
They mentioned one big spender has interest in the watch and he has first dibs on it. So I am second on the list. I have a purchase history with this AD fyi. |

It’s not easy at all. All professional models are allocated, PM on OF included. I just purchased the YG w black sub dials, and my AD is hopeful to get it in the first half of the year and I have $70k of purchase history with this AD, so not modest but not VIP. The WG is more challenging to get than YG or RG.

The OF Daytona’s are allocated and can no longer be ordered. Not so easy to come by anymore, especially with a sought after dial combo such as the WG or YG with matte black and champagne subdials.

I don't know about that. I tried a rose gold one on recently and passed on it. It was still there a week later granted not in the case. If you ask for it by name and express interest in a couple colors, I think AD will get you one.
