Pleasantly Surprised with AD Selection

Stopped by my AD earlier today to get a link added to my GMT and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised to see a nice selection on display. Sure I know, not “hard to get” references but nonetheless better than the usual empty cases. I was surprised to see the TT White Dial Daytona though and the RG Chocolate Dial DJ is a stunner in the metal. Anyhow, here are some pics...

Been looking for TT Daytona for awhile now. They are getting hard to find. Waiting on an AD call

The TT Daytona is a nice one, no need for a ceramic bezel

There is only one TT that REALLY works for me - the Rootbeer - but that YM does look kinda sweet.

I struggled between this and the TT CHNR. The GMT won by a hair. Both stunning watches.

Thanks for sharing. Nice to see a decent selection of watches. My closest AD had 0 Datejusts > 34mm last time I was in there.

Thanks for sharing, as it provides a bit of perspective. I, too, dropped by the AD today and noticed that their Rolex selection has essentially doubled since the last time I was there about a week ago. Though, by double, I mean there were double the DJ's, but no SS sports models like what you found.

It was a 36mm (too small for my wrist) otherwise I would have!

I too was pleasantly surprised on the 6th when I visited an AD in an adjacent state and they had at least a dozen, maybe 15 watches. No Daytona of any kind, but several SS 36mm DJ and TT 41mm DJ.

Is it a post-Christmas buying slump, or is demand starting to cool just a hair? Personally, people I know are starting to talk about post-Covid plans as cases continue to drop and vaccines keep going into people's arms, and EVERYBODY is talking about needing a vacation. I'd imagine the pent up demand for doing things out of the house will be huge if this trend continues. That may lead to less "fun money" allocated for a 3rd or 4th SS sport model Rolex.

“Luxury” watch sales always cool in February and March- ask any dealer. Most folks looking towards tax obligations and the Holiday season gifts and cash are a distant memory.
