Late to this thread. Betteridge has been my AD for the past few years. Can't say enough good things about their store and my SA. So far, I have purchased the ALS Saxonia Thin 37, the GMT CHNR TT, took a friend there and helped him get a Sub Date, referred another friend there for the Sub ND, bought a Bulgari bracelet for my wife, a pair of cuff links, and 2 Oris pieces they had on closeout for my wife and I. Also referred 2 members here for the same ALS Saxonia Thin I have. In November, I received the 2020 Sub Date 41 from them. Prior to the Sub, I was offered the white SkyDweller steel, but passed on it as I'm not sure yet about how well the SkyD fits me.
It's a modest spend history, and my SA knows I'm an ER nurse, and thus not anywhere close to being a whale, especially given that they are in Greenwich. But he has always been very helpful in trying to get me what I want, and is honest with the pieces that are nearly impossible for me to get (ie. DaytonaC SS, PP 5167). And he did get 2 of my friends Subs in the fall of 2019, when it was already hard for a new customer to walk into any AD and get one. I recently put the Daytona Oysterflex 116515LN on my wish list, so we'll see if that is possible.

You bought an ALS, and I’d say that sets you apart bigly. It’s pay to play and I don’t blame these retailers given their very limited supply.

Ha well, I just bought the cheapest ALS in the catalog!

Seems like you have a right AD and wonderful SA.

You are very good client to them too.

^ Nice.

I would love to be a client there but they haven’t had anything I ever wanted to get started. I offered to bundled if a BLNR came up but I haven’t heard from them. I was going to buy a JLC from them but the one I wanted is really boutique only. Oh well.

I tried creating a relationship at Betteridge. The salesman I have been speaking to is a nice guy, however, he politely told me a few times that with no purchase history there is little to no chance of getting a desirable piece.

What piece were you trying to get?

Same for me. Although I’ll say the SA didn’t seem very encouraging even if I were to buy another piece and they didn’t carry the Reverso I wanted.

There is no such thing as a cheap ALS, especially at retail. You might not swim with the big fish here in Greenwich, but you are certainly not a minnow either! Good for you though, for building a relationship with them. You'll likely continue to be rewarded.

They are getting pieces in, its just spoken for and never hits the case. It will be a while before inventory backs up to the point cases are even half filled. Too much demand right now for everything for cases to be filled.

Thank you! I also have two tween girls, so hopefully the relationship pays off for them one day too!
