No kidding, buy a Rolex today and if you're under forty years old, it will eventually be cancelled and then at seventy years old you'll be able to come on TRF and gloat about how you were right and the ludicrous insane price and value your lowly Airking has and how all the Bitcoin people were wrong because you're now discontinued 126710 BLNR is worth fajillions.
I'll be the first to say it though, the Submariner 126610LV is rumored to be next on the chopping block. Hurry up and buy it, you can see the truth in this by it's rising grey market price. |

I hope not, it's been my favorite Rolex since I got it, then when my wife claimed it as hers I nearly bought a second one just for me but couldn't bring myself to have 2 of the same watch...so dumb now...lol

Time to reclaim the watch!! Might be easier to get a new watch than a new Platona.

Platona Rumor
I like my Platinum bracelet in nice condition and the watch wears nicely on a strap. I like to wear it that way as it's comfortable as well.

One more thing, it's easy enough to look at watches on the Rolex site to see how they're sold. Most on this forum are pretty familiar with that site. |

Everything desirable has gone up as super high demand for luxury goods is chasing the luxury goods which are in very short supply. Cannot read much more into it at the moment. As factories return to full production and supply lines improve prices may stabilize or correct a tad on the used market.

Hmmmmm .... Not sure I agree. Discontinued doesn't always equal sky-rocketing prices.
The Platona is a tough sell for some guys because of the price (even at retail) and the extraordinary weight of the watch. I've tried it on several times at ADs and was shocked. I'd get wrist fatigue after a day of wearing it. Everyone thought prices of the SD4K would go through the roof when Rolex discontinued it after a very short run, but it didn't really happen. Why? It wasn't that popular to begin with, so just because it was discontinued didn't change that. |

They’re selling at current prices, they move within a day in the trade. which only means people will continue to charge more for them.

Well if you believe Rolex passion report we are due to see a 42mm Daytona in April
FWIW there are no incomings off 116506 and the 116508 green seams to have disappeared if that means anything |

Not seeing many around and on Chrono, I’m thinking not many being produced, possibly less than before. But it’s all speculation.

My local Ad also told me he has three on order and won't take any more deposits , he didn't say they was finished but was concerned when they may be able to supply one and thought 2023 would be a safe assumption

My AD felt this same way. Their last one they expected like 1-2 month from special order in 2020 and they still have not received it yet. They aren't a huge AD, but have been around for a long time.

Platinum Daytona right now is way above msrp so you won't see it at ad. Grey market dealers are requesting for it and not many new up for sale. I talked to 3 ADs and only 1 got one this year. It is their first one in 2+ years. It is extremely rare and I used to think it be crazy to buy this. Well I am eating my own words now.
