Dreaming of Daytonas
Hello! Long time lurker, first time poster.
I am the happy owner of an Explorer II that I bought about 5 years ago. My spouse has two Rolex's as well. I've been dreaming of a white face 42mm Daytona the last few years and of course these are only available on the secondary (you call it grey?) market unless you are amazingly lucky. I see this $14k watch selling for about $34k out there. That's a nearly 250% markup. I do love this watch!! I recently have been noticing the white gold oysterflex Daytona model. WOW, is that a good looking piece! Sporty, and with the black band might complement my Explorer II well. Seems this $30k watch is selling for "only" $40k ish on the secondary market. Only a 33% markup! Just wondering if I am crazy. Of course I'd rather have a steel watch for durability, but that oysterflex looks REAL nice. Thoughts? Thank you for listening! |
