My Next Watch - Your Thoughts? (Pic Heavy)
So, I know that, in the end, the decision is mine and I have to go with my gut. But, I'm torn on which watch will be my next one for several reasons. I'd like to hear opinions, but more importantly, reasoning.
I'm leaning towards a watch with a blue dial, but, I may end up choosing something different. So, to start, my current collection: Rolex: Two-Tone black dial SkyDweller, chocolate dial YachtMaster, YG 36mm DayDate, 36mm DateJust, Explorer II Omega: Seamaster 300M (gray dial), PO GMT, DeVille Annual Calendar, Constellation Double Eagle JLC: Master Control Date, Master Compressor Dualmatic Cartier: Blue Santos, Pasha power reserve Montblanc perpetual calendar Breitling Colt 41 Dubey & Schaldenbrand Gran Chrono Astro The contenders: JLC Polaris PAM 977 PAM 1028 Cuervo y Sobrinos Habana Cartier Ballon Bleu - blue Tudor GMT "Pepsi" Vaheron Fiftysix Grand Seiko "Skyflake" If the GS would have come on a bracelet rather than a strap, I probably would have bought it on the spot because the blue on the dial is so unique. But, I'm curious to hear thoughts about what's missing from my collection. Or even if you have another watch I should consider. I'd like to keep the cost to <$10K. |

I'd do the fiftysix but in leather and/or the polaris!
The enamel blue polaris is amazing too if you haven't seen it yet! Sent from my SM-N975F using Tapatalk |

I’d do the Vacheron too, though I‘d probably sell some of the collection to upgrade the VC to a complete calendar. The difference in movement is a difference between worlds. Else the Polaris does indeed look great on you OP, that blue is truly fantastic, though the movement there is really nothing to write home about.

Out of this line up two pieces stand out: GS and VC.

It’s almost double the price - $10k more - for the strap versions. Price of calendar (retail) is US $21,600. OP, my vote would be for the fifty-six as well of all your choices. If you want to spend even less, would take a look at the BB58 blue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Not a PAM fanboy at all but out of your options I'd go PAM 1028 or, less likely, JLC. I'd also consider the VC on a strap but that bracelet would not work for me. The other options don't do a lot for me.

The difference between the complete calendar and the time only in terms of quality is very significant, so the stretch into the calendar watch would def. be worth it (provided high watchmaking is important to the purchaser).

Wow!
Love the second Panerai PAM 977, followed by Grand Seiko (I agree with you about the bracelet) and rounding out third with the classic, timeless Tudor.

Ended up deciding to go with the GS Skyflake. Got a line on a bracelet (OEM) that I can put it on, so going with that.
I may end up getting the VC as well, but, won't decide for another couple of weeks. |

VC or GS on the above.
Outside the line you mention I would have a look on: GP Laureato Chronograph 38mm or 42mm GP Laureato 42mm I think you can snatch the Chrono at 10k and non chrono at 7-8k |

I like the Polaris best, but given you have two JLC my choice would be the blue PAM or the GS.
