I have to agree. Strictly speaking...

Formal = top hat, tails, gloves, and tux (just a tux 'll do these days)
Semi Formal = suit and tie
Casual= sports jacket/blazer

and I believe California casual is a sports shirt and chinos.

Since casual to me is Jeans and a T shirt, this would be my formal apearence.

Nice outfit and Explorer 1 ! I have worn my own Explorer 1 with everything from a short & a tee shirt, slacks & a sportcoat, khaki & polo to a tux !
