Daytona Price Surge!

David SW has a white dial Daytona, 116500, listed at $39,575!
Black dial is a bargain at $36,575:)
This is insane...

Really? The black dial isn’t as popular? I always thought it was the other way around.

In that case, I’ll drop by the AD and pick one up. I’m hoping I can get a 15% discount but since it’s a Daytona... I’ll probably just get 10% off. Damn ADs and their games....

Sorry I meant via the greys it is definitely not popular.
I don’t think I can afford it grey now but at least because it’s seen as the worse of the two it won’t go up as fast on the grey market so have a chance of saving. It probably won’t get discontinued as well like the white may eventually as it’s less popular. I love the black dial though.

Of course prices are going up!!! White dial was discontinued? Wait, not discontinued. Doesn’t matter anyway.

Rolex publicity will be sky high over the next couple of weeks. Time to cash in!

Go David go!!! #teamDSW

(And people who don’t like this topic don’t have to read it or reply. Feel free to ignore and MOVE ON!)

Is the black dial anywhere as difficult to get from the AD?

If I list my Daytona for $100,000 does that mean the price is surging?

If you were one of the most respected secondary resellers in the United States with a rock solid track record...

YES
You understand that listing something and selling something are two completely different things, right? You don't know any of the details of the final price that is agreed upon between David and the eventual buyer.

In my experience (and I’m sure many others), DavidSW asking price is VERY close to the actual selling price. If someone else with a purchase history from them has had a different experience please weigh in.

I don't disagree with you, but lets take out the top 10 most desirable watches and im sure the price listed is close to the sale price. I would love for someone to honestly tell us the bought a daytona for 40K. I agree a list price and sold price are different.

Now that the Daytona isn't being discontinued why not a price reduction.....We all want these watches for different reasons, but i'd rather spend my time building a relationship with the AD, and use the 20 grand on items to support them over buying an inflated price.

my 2 cents

Exactly. I can vouch for this through my own experience with him! David SW is not Chrono 24 with ridiculous listing prices and the watch not even in stock!

One poster in the other thread came out and said he bought the last one from David for the (I think) ~39k listed price. They are definitely selling.

Yes was just going to mention this.

End of the day the task of getting a Daytona from AD means likely spending 1000s and 1000s over time. It is probably cheaper to buy grey for 40k. Not always I accept. But for many it would be. Plus it will be on your wrist instantly.

If a Nautilus is worth 100k. I don’t see why a Daytona will not reach 50k plus. Different watch yes but most popular sports watch for each brand. Trying both in same store years ago I preferred a Daytona!

LOL would never pay anywhere near this and certainly wouldn’t admit to doing so.

No, it means you are not DavidSW who makes his living in this market. If you list yours for $100 K it simply means you you are not serious about wanting to sell your Daytona.

Hope that helps.

I almost did something similar on TRF for 4/1 but didn't want to break any rules.

Of course we never know what the actual sale price is, but I do know for certain if you try bargaining with the top trusted sellers, you're lucky if you get 1000-1500 off a $40k ask.

Also, sell your watch to them!

They're going to offer, give or take 10% off their asking price. That's a rough estimate, but point being they're paying out numbers that are consistent with their asking prices.
