pam 779 thoughts

Any thoughts on the PAM 779? DLC california Dial
They made 2k in 2019, 1k in 2020 and are discontinuing.
Retail price has dropped from 8100 to 6500 new.
I think its a beautiful watch in in its simplicity...
I just havent seen many around.

I like it, was very close to buying this configuration and may in the future after I wear in my new one for a while — so would go for it.

Looks good. How is the WR on this model? Some of the new models weren’t bothering to provide decent WR.

Wouldn’t pay a premium for any new Panera I but price seems reasonable.

Yeah, not a fan of that strap —but that’s another great thing about Panerai: no shortage to strap options to make it your own!

They have this greyish/green strap that would look nice too.

I’m not sure about DLC coatings or titanium.

I applaud Panerai for innovation and using innovate materials in their watches. I’m just not sure if all of them are for me

Finally pulled the trigger.
6200 NIB
Something about it just speaks to me.
And I think it's a decent price...
Ordering some extra straps as well.

I had a 779 on bund for a short time. The bund was not comfy so switched to a normal strap. Very comfortable but as my only Panerai it didn’t quite scratch the itch. I think it was the sterile dial which is what originally attracted me to it. That and the Cali style. Eventually swapped it for a 351 which I then swapped for a 25. The 25 is a keeper for me. While I really like the other 2 I think I really wanted a submersible.
