I paid a local dealer $60 to authenticate a new DeepSea.
I just had them perform a visual inspection- took about 5 min. Had I (and the seller) been willing to wait 2 weeks, they would have done an exhaustive confirmation and opened the case, validated serial numbers, etc. This probably makes more sense where vintage collector's pieces are concerned. BTW- this was Razny Jewelers in Addison, IL. I'm quite happy with them. Derek did the inspection. I was surprised, however, that many of the other dealers I spoke with wouldn't do it. |
