SS Daytona mistake on dial?

Hi everyone,

longtime lurker here. I recently saw a "APH" dial Daytona for sale. I had never heard of this before so checked my watch and it appears I have one (black face). While reading some of the threads about this I saw some others dials that had different spacing in "Oyster Perpetual" so I grabbed mine to see what kind of spacing mine had. That is when I noticed a blob of sorts on the T in chronometer. Has anyone seen anything like this before?

How do I post pics?

Thank you all

Yes I’ve seen this on several different models. There is a lot variance in printed dials year to year. The APH is just one way sellers try to get more.

It really isn’t that unique and won’t count for much I’m afraid.

Some models do fetch big premiums and that’s where this trend came from. Such as big red Daytona dials on some models which indicate they are original dials, service dials are small red. Chapter ring GMT due to limited production.

Yes, I thought the “APH” was silly too. It’s more the blob of white on the T in chronometer that I’m curious about.

Dials are made in 3 different factories now all owned by Rolex, and there have always, and always will be tiny differences in fonts, spacing, colour even perhaps miniscule so called faults.
