Icon5 Best Daily Driver - BLRO

Hello everyone,

I would love to hear your opinion of the best Rolex Daily Driver. After owning many Rolex watches, I have come to the conclusion that the Pepsi is my favorite and I can wear it everyday for every situation.

What is the one watch out of your collection that you would never sell and could wear for every occasion?

Be well!

If I had a GMT I would have to agree. Surprisingly, I have found my OP36 to be a fantastic daily wearer. It has the perfect balance of dress and sport

My BLRO is my daily. I try to wear my other pieces but I take everything else off and put the BLRO on. It’s that good.

I’ve got to agree with you. Having been through many watches from various brands and a handful of Rolexes, my BLRO is the best all around daily watch I’ve had. Love it!

It’s all about usability, at least to me. I prefer the GMT complication as I have to deal with people across time zones and need to refer to the date as well, besides easy legibility. Personaly I prefer a simpler watch so the LN fits that bill a little better, as it’s more versatile, under the radar and basic than a coke or Pepsi version. Obviously mileage varies and people have different needs, so I’m for all options that fits their circumstances...

BLNR most of the time.

Black OP39 when I can't flash "Rolex."

If I could only keep one watch it would be the OP39. It's the essence of a wristwatch.

16710 - has easy options. Pepsi. Coke. Wanna go subtle? Black insert. Heck, I even have a faded beater Coke insert mounted on a bezel for a quick switch. Versatile, comfortable.

Either my 214270 or 114060 fit the bill. So much so I’m having a lot of difficulty coming up with another watch that I actually need.

If I had to choose one, my 126710BLNR, but 116610LN is a very close second.

This is exactly my feelings.. I have owned a least 11 Rolex products including, RG Daytona, WG Smurf, YG Smurf, BLRO, Rolesium YachtMaster, RG 40 YachtMaster and many other SS variants.

The Daytona, although beautiful, wore to small even with my tiny Bony 7" wrists. Plus I couldn't read it at night, no date, to busy and with the PM Bezel was kinda Boring...

Fast Forward to the WG YachtMaster 42, and this things Rocks the house..

So comfortable I often forget it's there save for the Heft that lets you know it's still on your wrist.

It's Pretty Low Key except for those in the know... Legibility of awesome, even in the middle of the night, and with the rubber strap, there literally NO Hairline scratches...

IT easily dresses up and Down depending on your attire...

Try it on and wear it around the AD for a few minutes, and your guaranteed to fall in love...

I agree about the GMT. I’m a BLNR owner and fan, as opposed to the BLRO, but it is the one watch that would stay if I had to sell the rest.

Only exception might be my 16623 champagne dial because it was my first. But BLNR is easily my most worn watch and most used/useful function.

Best Daily Driver - BLRO

Does good even when your day takes you down into the depths. Too bad red is one of the first of the color spectrum to go

Love the Rolex GMT Master II (especially the BLRO) but honestly any Rolex would be a great daily driver

Best overall daily: Tie among OP36, OP39, and Explorer 1
Honorable mention: DJ41 (especially if date needed), BB58 (beater/diver)

I think the BLRO and BLNR on jubilee are just a little too flashy.

Personally it has to be something LN. So Sub Date Black is my EDC. But could totally see an explorer I fitting that bill too of course or even an LN GMT.

Yeah I like a little flash from time to time so out comes the BLNR, but certainly not a daily I'm as comfortable with.

From a gada standpoint dj36 smooth on oyster. Goes from the boardroom to chasing my kid around on the weekend. Literally can and does go anywhere.
